Job Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing‑Therapy is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for a 13‑week assignment in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, starting May 3, 2026. The position is 8‑hour shifts with a total of 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population.
Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices.
Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home‑based exercises, and safe swallowing practices; provide supportive counseling as required.
Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines while addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions.
Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech language therapy.
Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations.
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or higher in Speech‑Language Pathology.
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology.
Experience in Speech‑Language Pathology (new graduates are welcome).
Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.
Required Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
English language literacy (reading, writing, and comprehension of written instructions).
Basic PC skills.
Physical abilities: remain stationary, move about, lift 50–100 lbs, push, pull, and bend.
Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism.
Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, use of department equipment.
Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with and without assistance, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration to detail.
Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication ability.
