Position Overview
Graduate College at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a 12‑month, full‑time, non‑tenure‑track teaching assistant/associate professor position. An appointment at the teaching professor level may be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants. The initial appointment is two years with eligibility for renewal.
Responsibilities
Teach graduate‑level professional development courses and workshops.
Provide tutoring and supplemental instruction.
Serve as academic advisor for students in graduate certificate or post‑baccalaureate programs.
Support student success initiatives and provide other academic services to the Graduate College and the university.
Engage in culturally responsive teaching and high‑impact practices.
Collaborate with colleagues from other programs and departments.
Qualifications
Earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Collegial attitude and ability to collaborate with supervisors, faculty, staff, and students.
Preferred
Experience teaching graduate‑student professional development courses or workshops.
Familiarity with culturally responsive, sustainable best practices and recent student‑centered active learning strategies.
Excellence in teaching diverse populations at the college or university level.
