Position Overview
The School of Nursing at the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina A&T State University is hiring an assistant/associate professor in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. The role is a 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track position focused on undergraduate and graduate teaching, clinical instruction, student advising, mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, and program assessment and accreditation activities.
Responsibilities
Incorporate modern pedagogical skills into teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in psychiatric mental health nursing.
Supervise and support student projects for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
Provide service to the School of Nursing, the college, the university, and to appropriate community and professional organizations.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in nursing.
Demonstrated pedagogical skills for teaching in areas relevant to PMHNP.
Current unrestricted registered nurse license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain one.
National certification as a Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Preferred Experience and Training
Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs.
Three years of clinical experience related to psychiatric mental health nursing.
Certification as a Nurse Educator.
Experience with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Required License or Certification
Applicants must hold a current unrestricted registered nurse license in North Carolina or be eligible to obtain one, and must hold national certification as an APRN in the Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) role.

On‑site. Employees primarily work in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on‑site.
