
Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor-Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing

Position Overview
The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking a clinical track assistant/associate professor whose teaching and clinical agenda is focused on Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring, recruitment, curriculum development, and engagement in program assessment and accreditation-related procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to: (i) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate students including didactic and clinical practicum; (ii) supervise and support DNP student projects; (iii) provide service to the SON, the college, the university, and to appropriate community and professional organizations. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of a DNP or PhD in nursing is required.
Demonstrates pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to psychiatric/mental health nursing.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing's educational requirement is required.
Three years of clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care for mental health.
Teaching experience in advanced pathophysiology.
Nurse Educator Certification.
Skills with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB, and Microsoft Office Server Software preferred.

Required License or Certification
