Agile Project Manager (Scrum Master)
Apex Systems, Columbia, MD, United States
Agile Project Manager / Scrum Master- Portfolio & Program Management Delivery
Location:
Columbia, MD 21044 (Onsite 4 days/week)
About the Role
We're looking for a
deliveryfocused Agile Project Manager or Scrum Master
who understands where work is going, how it's sequenced, and when value is released. You'll help teams move initiatives forward, not just run standups. Think
Agile execution with just enough programlevel structure
to keep work on track and outcomes clear.
What You'll Do
Own delivery execution for a ProductOriented Delivery (POD) team
Turn initiatives and roadmaps into clear delivery plans, milestones, and sprint execution
Drive sprint work toward defined release dates and portfolio goals
Facilitate Agile ceremonies with purpose (not just checking the box)
Partner closely with Product Owners on backlog readiness and prioritization
Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and delivery forecasts
Communicate progress, risks, and release timing to stakeholders
Coach teams toward accountability, transparency, and strong collaboration
What We're Looking For
6+ years experience as a
Agile PM,
Scrum Master, or Delivery Lead
Comfortable working beyond the team level and thinking in
initiatives, not just stories
Experience supporting
large or visible initiatives
Strong Agile fundamentals with a
delivery accountability mindset
Clear, proactive communicator who brings solutions - not just problems
Comfortable with ambiguity and change
Experience with
Azure DevOps (ADO)
(Jira experience acceptable with strong delivery depth)
This Role Is a Great Fit If You...
Believe Agile still has
dates, outcomes, and accountability
Enjoy helping teams and leaders stay aligned on what's shipping and when
Like balancing structure and flexibility without being dogmatic
Aren't afraid to step beyond "traditional Scrum Master" boundaries to get things done
