Job Title: Clinic Clerk
The Clinic Clerk provides administrative support, performs clerical and customer service functions, and completes non-technical duties within the hospital setting to support efficient daily operations.
Reports to: Supervisor/Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent - Required
Associate's degree - Preferred
Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education
Minimum Work Experience:
1 year of clerical experience - Preferred

Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Essential Job Functions:
Performs clerical duties including preparing and sending outgoing mail, distributing incoming mail, maintaining filing systems, entering data, and maintaining databases
Types documents and correspondence; performs photocopying, scanning, and faxing
Greets visitors and communicates effectively with patients and providers
Answers, places, and directs phone calls; distributes messages appropriately
Organizes, coordinates, and schedules meetings and appointments
Maintains a clean and organized office environment; monitors and orders office supplies
Handles information requests by reviewing records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming requests
Coordinates workflow and compiles records of office activities
Performs basic accounting functions such as checking invoices, making deposits, and managing petty cash
Non-Essential Job Functions:
Assists with orientation and training of personnel and students
Participates in meetings as required or assigned
Prepares periodic reports as requested
Performs other related duties as assigned
