This position reports to the office of the Designated Institutional Official (DIO)/Director of Medical Education (DME), or designee, and is responsible for administrative and operational support duties required for compliant, effective, and successful Graduate Medical Education (GME) Programs.

Duties

Help

Analyze graduate medical education (GME) programs for compliance with all Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Institutional and program-specific Review Committee (RC) requirements.
Maintain accurate and complete records concerning trainee education as required by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)/Review Committee (RC).
Compose correspondence, reports, memoranda, agendas, schedules, contract and/or course materials for trainees and medical students.
Interpret regulations, policies, guidance, and course directives for efficiency.
Develop narrative and statistical information for use by the Program Directors and institutional Graduate Medical Leadership.

A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
This position may require business travel (TDY) up to 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes ensuring programs are compliant with all requirements; carries out operational and administrative duties pertinent to the conduct of the program; and updates and maintains files and databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education : Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Medical Administration, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management or Medical Education.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience : A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07)
