
Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician maintains all production and support equipment in the plant. Performs preventative maintenance on the equipment and maintains records. Duties include mechanical repairs, basic electrical, schematic reading, pneumatics, hydraulics, machining parts, pipe fitting, basic welding skills, building repairs, facility maintenance, installing equipment, and troubleshooting punch press and support equipment failures.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain production equipment to minimize downtime. Perform repairs on punch presses and support equipment that has failed. Complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime for production and customers. Coordinate repairs with the Maintenance Supervisor and the Production Supervisor. Work with outside vendors if needed to obtain parts. Analyze failures to prevent future breakdowns.
Maintain equipment in the tool rooms and the building. Perform repairs on the equipment and the building. Use troubleshooting skills to complete repairs in a timely manner. Order parts needed and maintain inventory stock levels. Coordinate repairs with maintenance supervisor and tool room supervisors.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment in the plant. Complete work orders in the time allotted and by the due date in the PM system. Coordinate PM work orders with production or the tool room to complete the PM in the time allotted. Parts needed for the PM must be on hand before the PM can be started. Reorder parts and supplies used during the PM. Completed PM work orders entered into the computer.
Projects for Production, Tool room and facility: coordinate from start to finish with the Maintenance Supervisor and the area supervisor. Plan, purchase parts, materials and equipment before start. Coordinate project and time frame with supervisor. Complete the project and notify Maintenance Supervisor that it's finished.
Installation of new equipment: plan with Maintenance Supervisor and VP Operations. Purchase all parts and materials before installation starts. Complete installation in a timely manner to meet production schedule.
Qualifications
High school diploma / GED or equivalent.
Technical/Mechanical certifications a plus.
Prior maintenance or working on punch press machines a plus; heating and cooling skills also a plus.
Physical Requirements
Minimum of 8-10 years working in the maintenance field pertaining to the stamping industry or equivalent.
Able to repair punch presses, support equipment and facility.
Ability to read schematics, basic electrical repairs, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine parts, plumbing, mechanical repairs, basic welding, troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrates ability to repair punch presses, support equipment and facility equipment.
Hours and Salary
1st Shift - Monday through Friday, 6AM to 2:30PM
Salary commensurate with experience, starting pay $32 per hour
