As a Grade 6 ELA Teacher, you will be at the heart of our students' literacy journey. You will design and implement engaging reading and writing instruction while fostering a classroom environment that feels safe, inclusive, and creatively stimulating.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver dynamic, rigorous, and engaging ELA lessons aligned with state standards, focusing on reading comprehension, literary analysis, writing mechanics, and vocabulary development.
Actively collaborate with your Grade 6 colleagues to integrate reading and writing in the content areas, share best practices, and analyze student data to drive instruction.
Cultivate a warm, welcoming classroom culture that champions diversity, encourages student voice, and supports the social-emotional needs of middle schoolers.
Ensure all materials and lessons are accessible and scaffolded for every learner.
Maintain proactive, positive, and consistent communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom happenings.
Qualifications
Valid NJDOE Teacher Certification (Elementary School with Subject Matter Specialization (Grades 5-8) - ELA) or Secondary Teaching Certificate in English.
A firm understanding of early adolescent development and a genuine passion for middle school students.
A collaborative mindset and a strong desire to work as part of a highly interactive teaching team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
