Position Summary
This position is responsible for the daily processing of medical records which includes scanning paper medical records into the EMR, preparing scanned records for storage, assisting in maintaining accurate MPI, validating interfaced reports into EMR, verifying successful transmission of auto‑faxed reports, assisting with release of information, answering and assisting with phone calls, and other duties as assigned.

N/A
Education:
Minimum high school diploma or GED. Medical terminology preferred.
Experience:
Previous clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or medical office setting. Proficient computer/keyboarding skills, faxing, filing, scanning, copying, and telephone etiquette. Three months on‑job training provided.
Special qualifications:
Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, ability to manage quality, accuracy, and timeliness of documents. Strict confidentiality, HIPAA compliance. Dependable with strong work ethic, quick learner, works independently, and interacts courteously with physicians, patient care team, and the public. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Able to sit for long periods. Able to work under pressure with time constraints.
Degree of Supervision Required
Minimum; incumbent works well independently.
