Role Summary
The Field Medical Outcomes is a field medical colleague responsible for informing customer decision‑making and improving population health through real‑world data analytics, pharmacoeconomic analyses, outcomes evaluations and medical presentations. The role is responsible for educating customers on the clinical and economic impact of Pfizer medicines and products and may provide therapeutic area expertise for designated TA areas, primarily focusing on integrated health care organizations, including Integrated Delivery Systems, Payer customers and Specialty Pharmacy Providers (SPPs).
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role are to contribute to Pfizer’s ability to:
Plan and execute the independent Medical strategy and engagement for appropriate assigned customers within a territory, coordinating with other Pfizer colleagues to achieve Medical objectives;
Understand the priorities of Pfizer Medical Affairs to contribute to educational content strategy development and execute aligned Field Medical tactics;
Maintain effective communication and collaboration among headquarters Medical colleagues, Medical Information, and other Pfizer Field Medical colleagues;
Demonstrate expertise in scientific communication across multiple channels, including live and virtual presentations, written communication, and telephone or virtual conversations;
Integrate understanding of clinical, HIT, market, and account considerations to develop and execute mutually beneficial customer‑specific projects, collaborations, strategic medical partnerships, and non‑interventional studies to advance quality of care and improve patient outcomes;
Optimize patient care improvements in the centricity of Medical communications and deliverables, incorporating Health Literacy and cultural awareness principles.
Detailed Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all internal/external SOPs/Rules/Regulations.
Provide objective and scientifically sound medical information regarding Pfizer’s medicines and disease states through pharmacoeconomic models, outcomes tools, educational programs, Health Outcomes Projects and Evaluations (HOPEs), non‑interventional studies, and collaborations.
Prioritize customer and Pfizer needs to develop and implement Real World Evidence‑based outcomes tools (e.g., HOPEs and educational programs) that identify opportunities for improving patient care.
Serve as Field Medical Outcomes lead for assigned customers, developing and executing a Medical account plan while representing Medical Affairs and sharing customer insights.
Understand study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation, and communicate these concepts to customers.
Engage with key stakeholders, such as Quality Improvement Organizations, Advocacy Groups, Coalitions, and medical/healthcare associations, to align with Pfizer’s Medical objectives.
Provide Medical support and guidance for HIT initiatives, including assessment, triaging, and clinical relevance of proposed methodologies.
Analyze workflows in clinical healthcare information systems to facilitate care process improvements.
Facilitate development of clinical content that embodies the clinical perspective while effectively using information technology.
Provide expertise on e‑data collection and planning for Field Medical colleagues.
Work cross‑functionally to identify, design, and deploy HIT solutions aligned with Pfizer Medical goals.
Support development of HIT/clinical informatics resources for new product and indication launches.
Maintain and develop Clinical Informatics capabilities for effective external collaborations.
Serve as member of internal teams to create tools, resources, and educational materials for internal and external use.
Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs leadership with professional associations, demonstrating medical professionalism.
Enhance customer recognition of Pfizer Medical through collaborative projects, publications, and healthcare awards.
Provide approved medical content on Pfizer’s products, focusing on organized customers.
Demonstrate Pfizer Scientific Leadership by staying abreast of developments, reviewing literature, networking, and attending conferences.
Respond to unsolicited requests for scientific interpretation and pharmacoeconomic impact to advance formulary decision‑making or patient outcomes.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a health science.
MD or DO with 4+ years relevant experience.
Experience in clinical, formulary, and/or other management; managed care, pharmaceutical industry, or quality improvement.
Data analytics and/or HEOR activities with strong methodological skills (study design, data analysis, interpretation).
Significant experience interacting with payers and organized customers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and conflict management.
Leadership experience and ability to influence and collaborate with peers.
Strong analytic skills and creativity in problem solving.
Effective communication of scientific information.
Well‑organized, flexible, and strong situational leadership skills.
Ability to travel, including overnight travel for internal and external meetings.
Ability to operate a Pfizer company car with a valid US driver’s license and will travel up to 40–50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a field‑based medical/outcomes role.
Experience analyzing health care data (claims, electronic health records, other data).
Expertise in Clinical Informatics or HIT, including claims datasets or EHR systems.
Residency or Fellowship experience.
Microsoft Access, statistics software, or data programming experience.
Experience with EHR platform optimization/customization.
Leadership in innovative project start‑up and management.
Understanding of the U.S. healthcare business environment and emerging trends.
Non‑Standard Work Schedule, Travel, or Environment Requirements
Operate a Pfizer company car and regularly fly on airplanes; maintain flexibility to travel 40–50% of the time.
Valid US driver’s license and compliant driving record; any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary ranges from $230,900 to $384,800. In addition to participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a 25% bonus target and share‑based long‑term incentive, the role offers a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, retirement savings contribution, paid vacation, holidays, personal days, caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits covering medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision.
