Assistant Controller

An Assistant Controller for Absolute Group is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, including daily journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and preparation of the financial statements.

Principal Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries

Prepare bank reconciliations

Validate and keep fixed asset spreadsheet current

Process depreciation monthly

Manage company credit cards, create and terminate users, reconcile credit cards each month

Manage fuel contract

Monthly inventory reconciliations for shop and erosion control materials

Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly

Month end review of the balance sheet and income statement

Backup to accounts payable and accounts receivable

Any other tasks deemed necessary

Capability to manage a team

Requirements

Associate degree at minimum and 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred

Must be familiar with computers, email, and able to work with Microsoft applications

Detail oriented

Effective oral and written communication skills

Knowledge

Understanding of all accounting sequencing/critical timeline scheduling

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software
