Admissions Specialist
Join our team as an Admissions Specialist, where you'll play a key role in guiding patients through the admissions process. This position is responsible for handling incoming calls from referral sources and prospective patients, verifying insurance coverage, completing intake assessments, and entering patient information to initiate preadmissions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage incoming calls from patients and referral sources
Scheduling admissions across multiple facilities
Verify insurance and ensure accurate documentation
Conduct intake assessments and enter patient demographics into the system
Coordinate room changes and maintain the admissions waitlist
Communicate admission details with nursing, physicians, and administrative staff
Qualifications & Skills
Knowledge of insurance verification and healthcare processes
Experience with intake assessments and EHR systems
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital admission procedures
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Schedule
Monday – Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm, Fri 1pm-9pm. Hybrid.
Position Requirements
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Minimum 1-year experience in a clinical setting, preferably inpatient drug and alcohol
