Travel assignment in a hospital setting
Responsibilities
Perform evaluations and administer prescribed respiratory care therapies per physician orders and protocols.
Assemble, check function, troubleshoot, and correct malfunctions of respiratory equipment.
Assess overall cardiopulmonary status and collect pertinent clinical information; monitor patient responses to therapy.
Maintain airway care, including artificial airways, and manage secretion clearance to support ventilation.
Explain care plans and therapy goals to patients; document communication and progress; adjust plans as needed.
Respond to emergencies by initiating, modifying, or continuing respiratory care techniques as appropriate; collaborate with the care team.
Requirements
Active Illinois Respiratory Care License
NBRC Certification (RRT)
Cerner EMR experience
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (AHA)
Neonatal/Pediatrics and adult critical care experience; Emergency Department experience; experience with all patient populations
Minimum 2 years of RRT experience
Ability to work in a hospital setting with rotating (nights) schedule
Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment location (facility will not consider local candidates)
