Responsibilities
Provide care and treatment for patients with respiratory and cardiac illness; manage COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease
Proficiently monitor patients on ventilatory support and evaluate cardiopulmonary status; perform clinical assessments of physical and mental status
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team; problem‑solve and function as a collaborative team member
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory standards and patient safety goals; participate in required education for applicable programs (e.g., DNV)
Be able to multitask, anticipate patient and staff needs, and participate in group class settings when appropriate
Float to other departments as needed, with qualified staff before core staff are floated
Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Licenses / certifications: Current Oregon RT License; current RRT
Certifications: PALS, NRP, BLS, ACLS required
CRASE: CRASE training preferred; if travel extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
Experience: None required
Work setting: Ability to work effectively in an indoor hospital environment
