Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician for an opportunity in Dayton, Ohio.
Overview
The HVAC/Refrigeration Technician is responsible for operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production systems in assigned facilities to ensure efficient operation, safety, and minimal downtime.
Responsibilities
Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment and systems.
Perform inspections and repairs for interior and exterior facility areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting.
Demonstrate technical expertise in HVAC and refrigeration, with multi-skilled capabilities in electrical, piping/plumbing, material handling equipment, and other areas.
Conduct ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility systems and components.
Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing, and other facility systems as assigned.
Study and familiarize with equipment and usage methods to ensure proper operation.
Perform facility inspections and report on conditions impacting operations and occupancy.
Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order statuses in real time.
Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo to document work performed.
Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
Be available for call-in work and perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment)
Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering with a strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance
Knowledge of system design and applications
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial refrigeration or supermarket refrigeration
Preferred Qualifications
Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems
Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC
