Primary Purpose
NC State’s inclusive postsecondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Elevate, is seeking a motivated and reliable Student Success Navigator to support in study halls and courses to promote self-determined learning among Elevate students. This role provides the opportunity to support students individually and in small groups in developing skills such as time management, navigation, and assignment completion.
Job Responsibilities
Provide 5 to 15 hours per week of support, including academic and social mentoring responsibilities
Provide individualized academic support in study sessions and Elevate program or inclusive Courses
Provide individualized support during Elevate’s Living Learning class or workshops
Assist students with navigation, assignment planning, and time management, including use of Google Suite tools and other mobile applications
Support Elevate students with independent living, social goal, and academic goal attainment including attending events/activities and facilitating event/activity registration
Document activities completed with Elevate students, as instructed by Elevate staff
Participate in trainings led by Social or Academic Peer Coaches or Elevate program staff
Clearly communicate availability and provide adequate notice if scheduling conflicts arise
Opportunities to serve as a job coach for on campus student employment internship(s)
Eligibility Requirements
Must be an undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled at NC State University
Strong academic, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Must have a passion for inclusion
Proficiency with Google Suite tools and digital scheduling and communication mechanisms used by the Elevate program
Time and Scheduling
Time Limited: Yes | Appointment Length: August 16, 2026 - May 15, 2027
