Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Health & Wellness supports the Director of Health & Wellness in overseeing clinical operations and ensuring the highest quality of resident care. This role is responsible for assisting with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and community standards.
What You Will Do
Support oversight of all resident care services in accordance with state and federal regulations
Assist with resident assessments, care planning, and ongoing evaluations
Participate in pre-admission assessments and onboarding of new residents
Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and proper protocols
Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians, families, and leadership
Supervise and support care staff, including training, coaching, and performance management
Assist in scheduling medical appointments and coordinating care services
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all clinical services and care provided
Promote resident engagement, dignity, and quality of life
Maintain a safe, clean, and homelike environment for residents
Support emergency preparedness, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance
Participate in quality assurance and risk management programs
Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and team members
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating clinical staff
Support performance management and disciplinary actions as needed
Act as a leader and role model for the clinical team
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Active
LPN license in the state of Florida
required
Minimum of
5 years of experience
in senior living, long-term care, or related field
Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong clinical knowledge of senior living regulations and best practices
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents throughout the day
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with resident mobility as needed
Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations
Fast-paced senior living environment
Frequent interaction with residents, families, and staff
May require occasional evenings, weekends, or extended hours as needed
