The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, Department of Medicine-Nephrology, seeks a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, who is a subspecialty board eligible/board certified academic physician to join its full-time faculty in Nephrology. This position is a clinician educator who will be involved in patient care, research & education. Responsibilities include participating in renal consult service, medicine nephrology clinics, staffing dialysis unit shifts and also service as a teaching attending in the hospital clinics, participate and attend educational conferences as well as participate in night, weekend and holiday call. This position does not meet the requirements to be on tenure track.

Responsibilities
Clinical - 85%
Inpatient consult service, inpatient dialysis, outpatient dialysis, night and weekend call
Clinics as faculty provider as well as faculty attending supervising fellows/APPs
Teaching - 15%
Didactic presentations, scholarly presentations, teaching residents/students/fellows
Engaging in scholarly activities including but not limited to research studies, quality improvement projects, or case studies
Required Qualifications
MD/DO or equivalent. Completion of Nephrology fellowship training program. Board Certified or Board Eligible for the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology.
Assistant Professor - Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
Associate Professor - Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be: Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
Evidence of ability as a teacher;
Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and
Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and more. Tuition Assistance Program may be considered for full-time employees after 6 months of employment. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on factors including experience, education, credentials, and market data. Advancement is through the annual promotion and tenure process (typically every five years).
