
PGY2 Pharmacy Resident - Brooklyn

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a PGY2 Pharmacy Resident – Brooklyn. The NYU Langone Health Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) is a 12‑month program that will provide the resident with an intensive and individualized experience in the inpatient setting. The goal of this residency is to enable the resident to develop the skills necessary to provide a high level of pharmaceutical care in a variety of practice settings. The resident will be an integral member of the medical team, collaborate on patient care, participate in medical emergencies, and provide pharmacotherapeutic and pharmacokinetic consultation. After completing this residency, the pharmacist will have gained the knowledge and experience to be a competent general pharmacy practitioner.
Job Responsibilities:
Fulfill the core values and mission of NYU Langone Health and incorporate them into the performance of duties.
Develop and maintain a high‑level clinical pharmacy practice.
Participate in multidisciplinary bedside rounds.
Provide pharmacotherapeutic, pharmacokinetic and pharmacoeconomic consultation.
Serve on the medical response team, airway, stroke and acute coronary syndrome pager response.
Conduct patient admission histories, transition of care involvement.
Provide patient and caregiver medication counseling.
Participate in educational initiatives.
Provide oversight for quality assurance of clinical pharmacy programs to improve quality of care.
Contribute to professional development of staff, including pharmacists and clinical pharmacists.
Identify and develop policies and procedures that optimize pharmacy operations while meeting accreditation standards and applicable regulations.
Evaluate and report measures of patient encounter productivity and identify methods to enhance efficiency of such encounters.
Develop and implement clinical practice guidelines to enhance pharmaceutical care and medication safety.
Document clinical interventions, adverse drug reactions, and medication errors, and report them.
Serve on hospital committees as identified and assigned by the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services.
Identify and provide expertise for Medication Use Evaluations.
Maintain professional competency and certification.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
License or eligibility for licensure in the State of New York.
Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Preferred Licenses:
Pharmacy Intern Permit – NYS, Pharmacist License – NYS.

Salary Information:
Salary range for the role is $48,750.00 – $54,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
