This role exists to support growing aerospace production demand across precision turning operations. At Barnes Aerospace, this position plays a key role in machining forged aerospace components to tight tolerances for long‑term commercial and defense programs.
The Work You’ll Be Doing
Set up and operate CNC turning centers in a production environment
Run multiple machines within a machining cell when feasible
Machine aerospace forgings and components to tight tolerances (±.001”)
Read and interpret blueprints, tool setup sheets, and operation instructions
Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspection using precision tools
Load and unload parts manually or using hoists
Adjust offsets, replace tooling, and troubleshoot machining issues
Maintain quality and safety standards throughout production

What We’re Looking For
Required:
3+ years CNC turning experience
Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
Experience with setups, offsets, and tool changes
Comfortable holding tight tolerances
Strong problem‑solving and attention to detail
Preferred:
Aerospace machining experience
Multi‑machine / cell experience
Fanuc control familiarity
