Senior Security Installation Technician (Commercial Systems) – Grand Rapids, MI & Nationwide Travel
About the Role: We are seeking an expert-level Security Installation Technician to join our team specializing in high-end commercial security solutions. The role involves installing, configuring, and supporting advanced security camera and access control systems for commercial customers across the U.S.
What You'll Be Doing
Install, program, and service commercial security camera and access control systems
Work with industry-leading platforms and manufacturers, including Brivo, Avigilon, Bosch, Genetec, Software House, Milestone, Hikvision, Axis, Hanwha, and others
Run, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat6 and fiber cabling
Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and system schematics
Install and understand commercial fire alarm components (pull stations, smoke detectors, and related devices)
Perform system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance
Operate boom lifts and scissor lifts safely on job sites
Travel to commercial project sites (up to 50% nationwide travel)
Represent the company professionally while working directly with clients and project teams
Required Skills & Experience
Expert-level experience installing commercial security systems
Strong background in CCTV/Video Surveillance, Access Control Systems, Alarm Systems, Structured Cabling (Cat6 & Fiber)
Hands‑on experience with major commercial platforms (multibrand environments)
Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues
Working knowledge of fire alarm codes and commercial compliance standards
Experience working with firewalls and networked security devices
Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and active construction sites
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in commercial and enterprise environments
Prior exposure to Honeywell or similar enterprise security systems
Experience coordinating with electricians, GCs, IT teams, and end clients
Certifications or manufacturer training (a plus, not required)

Job Details
Type & Location : Contract to Hire, based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay Range : $28.00 – $32.00 per hour.
Travel : Up to 50% nationwide.
