Minimum Qualifications Summary
Certification & Education

Higher Education Degree in Health Sciences or a similar field is highly preferred
Experience Required
Experience conducting a medical practice in accordance with DOD guidelines
Experience in conducting and evaluating medical readiness exams and utilizing medical tracking systems
Experience with TRICARE, medical policy development, and disease surveillance is strongly preferred
Ten years of military experience
Job Objective
Under a five-year contract, this position will provide support services to assist the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT) Force Surgeon in medical planning, health surveillance, and operational health service support in the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AoR).
Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise to the MARCENT Force Surgeon on medical policies issued by CENTCOM, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), and Defense Health Agency (DHA).
Assist in the coordination of medical communications between MARCENT and CENTCOM Surgeon Group (CCSG).
Support the integration of biosurveillance, preventive medicine, and force health protection policies across MARCENT activities.
Provide subject matter input to G-4 planners and participate in planning meetings and conferences, including support to Annex Q medical planning.
Attend, as schedule permits, CCSG planning meetings and conferences.
Coordinate communication between CCSG concerning all matters of biosurveillance, preventive medicine and force health protection that affect U.S. MARCENT forces within the CENTCOM AoR.
Provide CENTCOM Medical Operational Deployment (MOD) guidance and refinement as requested via CCSG office, BUMED and Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ).
Provide pharmaceutical and therapeutics guidance and refinement as requested by CCSG office as it affects CENTCOM AoR medical care and logistics.
Support the Armed Forces Blood Program and Force Surgeon U.S. MARCENT in all matters pertaining to the allocation, utilization and distribution of U.S. Blood products and policy coordination concerning non-U.S. blood product utilization.
Coordinate updates to U.S. MARCENT Force Surgeon concerning Global Health Engagement Policy and Operations, Activities and Investments (OAI) utilization in coordination with U.S. MARCENT G4- Plans, Operations and Medical Intelligence (POMI) and CCSG.
Evaluate U.S. Medical Intelligence Data concerning OCONUS medical facilities being utilized by U.S. MARCENT Forces in conjunction with G4-POMI planners and CCSG for all medical plan development.
Coordinate dissemination of information for routine, exercise, and contingency operations for disease and injury patterns, trends, and threats; monitor the status of force health and develop solutions to emerging health issues in theater.
Assist with coordination efforts between MARCENT and medical policy stakeholders (e.g., DHA, HQMC Health Services, Navy Medicine).
Provide advisory input on administrative tasks including Purple Heart boards, medical-related readiness events, and coordination with local military treatment facilities.
Support tracking of medical evaluations and provide input for operational risk assessments, but will not exercise authority over patient travel or operational assignments.

Contractor personnel must support the projected travel in support of government requirements to MARCENT AOR and supporting locations, including but not limited to Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Israel, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Djibouti, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, and Greece. The ideal candidate will be available for travel on less than 24 hours-notice to support personnel recovery and training for forward deployed forces and will possess the ability to execute OCONUS travel throughout the Central Command (CENTCOM) AOR.
