CoxFleet is a leading provider of on‑site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide. We are currently hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starters, alternators, fan clutches, etc.

Diagnose, adjust and repair truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling, airway systems, engine electronics, diesel steering, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.

Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment malfunctions using handheld instruments and pressure gauges.

Road‑test vehicles to ensure proper operation.

Identify problems, evaluate alternatives and make sound judgments.

Manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliations.

Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.

Communicate effectively with clients to assess needs and resolve problems.

Manage concurrent tasks and prioritize work.

Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.

Document work on Repair Orders (RO) using TRAIT application.

Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.

Operate independently and manage own daily schedule.

Maintain high productivity and meet standard repair times.

Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary.

Communicate with management/support to obtain repair estimate approvals.

Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of experience in a related field (alternatively, a degree/certification plus 5 years of experience).

At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.

Possess and supply hand tools necessary for job duties.

OEM training and certifications preferred.

Complete all company‑required training.

Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical (or meet medical card requirement).

Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.

Maintain a safe driving record and a valid Driver Qualification File.

ASE T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, A8, L1, L2
