Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1 - SCI Frackville

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1 who is ready to support a skilled team at State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Frackville. This role allows you to guide staff and support daily operations that keep the facility running safely. You become part of a team that relies on your leadership and steady decision making. This position helps guide facility maintenance operations and supports the supervision of maintenance and trades staff. As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1, you will perform the following duties:

Daily Operations:

Plan, assign, and coordinate work activities to support facility goals

Staff Supervision:

Provide direction, training, and oversight for maintenance and trades employees

Report Preparation:

Prepare and review reports and records related to safety, inventories, and assignments

Safety Compliance:

Inspect work areas to ensure adherence to safety rules and proper handling of materials

Resource Management:

Review and manage requests for tools, supplies, and equipment based on operational needs

Emergency Response:

Respond to urgent situations and address issues that arise after hours

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman, Utility Plant Supervisor, or Corrections Tradesman Instructor (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) with a specialty in one of the trades of Carpentry, Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Machinist, Welding, Painting, Automotive, Electronics, or Masonry; or

Six years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
