Production Technician

Salary Range: $23-$27/hour based on experience

Skyway Cement Company is a locally managed subsidiary of Eagle Materials Inc., one of the largest American‑owned suppliers of materials for construction.

Position: Production Technician for a manufacturer of slag cement. Duties include equipment operation, inspections, clean‑up, and some maintenance. Candidates must maintain a safety‑focused mindset and work rotating shifts of 8–12 hours.

Primary Responsibilities

Load material with a front‑end loader

Perform daily inspections of equipment

Assist shift coordinator with daily operations of plant

Perform preventative maintenance routines of equipment

Complete weekly cleanout duties of chutes

Sweep, clean, and pick‑up to maintain good housekeeping standards

Assist other departments with maintenance and shipping activities

Adapt well to varying operational plans while maintaining a safe and efficient focus on productivity

Use forklift, bobcat, and other mobile equipment as needed

Position Dimensions

Must be flexible and able to work rotating shifts

Must be able to work 40 hours or more per week

Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary, including weekends

Must adhere to Standard Operating Procedures

Must be 18 years of age

Must be able to legally work in the United States

Must be able to work in temperatures of heat in summer and cold in winter

Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat as needed for responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Valid Driver’s License (Required)

2+ years of industrial related work experience (Preferred)

Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience (Preferred)
