Disbursements Supervisor

to join our Finance Team! Under the direct supervision of the Payroll and Disbursements Manager, this candidate will coordinate and supervise the Accounts Payable staff in the intermediate technical and administrative work preparing, processing and distributing paychecks for RBHA; reviews accounts payable transactions, reviews prepaid expense reconciliations and ensures accounts payable tasks are performed timely. Maintains disbursements KPIs. Performs or reviews monthly reconciliation of payable related general ledger accounts, prepares various spreadsheets, and other related work as apparent or assigned.

Essential Functions

Supervises Accounts Payable staff.

Prepares monthly Accounts Payable and reviews monthly Prepaid Expense reconciliations.

Troubleshoots issues with missing invoices, late or missing payments, and other disbursement issues that may occur.

Ensures Accounts payable staff monitors Positive Pay, uploads ACH and virtual credit card transactions daily, and communicates ACH payments upload status to the Controller.

Trains Accounts Payable staff to perform all aspects of the disbursement cycle.

Communicates the status of accounts payable activities and processes to the Controller weekly.

Reviews accounts payable processes for opportunities to gain efficiency and enhance controls.

Assists in the development and ongoing measurement of KPIs.

Provides training to Finance and RBHA staff on disbursement-related topics as directed.

Prepares performance evaluations for Accounts Payable staff.

Assists in the preparation of W2s and 1099s.

Prepares reports for external auditors.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Controller or CFO.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

General knowledge of bookkeeping terminology and methods; general knowledge of routine accounting principles; thorough knowledge of standard office methods and procedures; ability to maintain financial records and to prepare reports and statements; ability to make arithmetical computations quickly and accurately; ability to post accounts with speed and accuracy; ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions; ability to operate efficiently a variety of office machines; ability to operate personal computer and related software packages (Advanced Excel skills a must), hardware and peripheral equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, vendors, State and Federal agency representatives and the general public.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree with coursework in accounting, business administration, or related field and considerable experience in accounts payable processing plus at least 3 years supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; up to 10 pounds of force frequently; and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires reaching, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.

Special Requirements

Supervisory skills. Strong Excel skills. Great Plains experience a plus.

Starting Salary Range
75,000
