Patient Account Specialist

To support patient financial services, the full-time Patient Account Specialist will work remotely to manage payment options, assist with insurance setup, and resolve patient account issues while ensuring timely follow-up on balances owed.
Key responsibilities

Screen patients and process Financial Assistance Applications, verifying eligibility and making account adjustments as needed
Communicate with patients via various channels to respond to inquiries and support the application process for financial assistance programs
Work with responsible parties to resolve outstanding accounts, including setting up payment plans and securing payments through various means

Required qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience in collections, customer service, billing, or a related medical field
Preferred college coursework in Accounting, Business, Medical Technology, Communications, or Social Work
Proficient in MS Office applications and skilled in alphanumeric data entry
Familiarity with government, commercial, and third-party billing is preferred
Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining strong customer service skills
