Overview

The Program Coordinator supports the planning, development, recruitment, and implementation of the Water Management and Hydrological Science Program. This role advises graduate students, builds relationships with key water‑sector partners, expands internship opportunities, and enhances program initiatives.
Responsibilities

Provide academic advising to WMHS graduate students, review degree plans, process add/drops and substitutions, and maintain records in COMPASS.
Coordinate with advisors and graduate directors across partner colleges to develop and maintain tools that track student progress.
Manage teaching schedules, textbook requisitions, catalog updates, and participate in college‑level graduate operations and advising meetings.
Collaborate with the Program Chair to compile and recommend scholarship awards and assistantship allocations.
Use university systems for recruitment, advising, and record‑keeping tasks, including updates to the Access database of current and former students.
Respond to prospective students, attend recruitment conferences, conduct English‑proficiency interviews, and facilitate WMHS admissions procedures.
Plan student welcoming events and communicate job opportunities through the program website, email, and social media.
Coordinate internship opportunities with water organizations and consulting firms.
Assist the Chair in developing assessment metrics, compiling and analyzing assessment data, and supporting strategic planning for the program.
Maintain and update the WMHS website and social media platforms to refine the program’s online presence.
Assign and monitor student office space and coordinate WMHS seminars, symposia, poster sessions, and student publication activities.
Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and campus partners.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience in higher education.
Master’s degree or PhD in Geoscience or a closely related field (preferred).
Two years of program management experience.
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Familiarity with TAMU Graduate academic policies and procedures; higher education academic advising experience.
Salary

Compensation will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s education and experience.
