Position: Operations Technician III
Responsibilities / Expectations Safely maintain equipment and support pipeline operations, including reading and interpreting drawings, inspecting and supervising equipment, and maintaining operational and technical standards and/or governmental requirements.
Analyze data and collaborate with others to find solutions to technical or operational problems.
Follow all company policies and apply appropriate operating and maintenance procedures.
Acquire knowledge of and adhere to requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, including execution of tasks, protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets.
Maintain general knowledge of site/location/equipment and specific permits and compliance.
Complete assigned reports, logs, and maintain accurate records of process operations and performance of preventative maintenance on equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Years of Experience - Operations Technician III Required: High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or a similar role.
Preferred: Associate’s degree or 2‑year technical degree and a minimum of two (2) years of multifaceted operations technician experience in the oil and gas industry.
Education & Years of Experience - Operations Technician II Required: High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience, including at least one (1) year as a technician in the oil and gas industry.
Preferred: Associate’s degree or two‑year technical degree.
Education & Years of Experience - Operations Technician I Required: High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred: Associate’s degree or two‑year technical degree with a minimum of six (6) months of mechanical, technical, or controls systems experience in the oil and gas industry, or an operations technician summer internship with an associate’s degree.
Physical and Environmental Work Requirements Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises, and in enclosed spaces.
Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed.
Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time.
Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE.
Use hand tools.
Shift / Work Hours / Travel Requirements Available to work after hours, on‑call rotations, nights, weekend shifts, and holidays as the need arises.
May be required to work overtime, 10–12 hour shifts, and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays.
Candidate must live in or be willing to relocate within 45 minutes of Grover, NC within one year of the start date.
Other Requirements Must possess a valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Demonstrate aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes.
Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal skills and a safety-first mindset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills; advanced knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers.
