Spoiler Tweet Likely to Impact Glee Fine Print

In this day and age of Twitter, Facebook, and texting, it’s rather surprising to learn that some studios have yet to amend SAG day-player and other contracts with a social media non-disclosure clause. In the case of Glee, this is likely to be quickly corrected after an extra on the show, Nicole Crowther (pictured), revealed major spoiler plot details via Twitter last week.

Some studios like Disney adjusted contractually to the social media age several years ago. Per Matthew Belloni‘s Hollywood Reporter blog item, Crowther’s actions will likely help tip those scales at Fox:

An insider at Glee producer 20th Century Fox Television tells us the studio is considering amending all of its talent deals–from series regulars to day players like Crowther–to include strict punishments for blabbing online.

In a perfect Glee world, punishment for spoiling key plot details would involve Jane Lynch, in full character, paying a visit to the perpetrator’s house. Crowther appears to have deleted her Twitter account after being taken to task on April 17th by show co-creator Brad Falchuk.
