Sell your ads on eBayWill Rocketboom start a trend? We've loved those guys since we fell in love with them (well, actually, we were in line to fall in love with Amanda) at Corante's Social Networking conference last fall, and now we've taken a call from another site with great ad inventory asking if posting it on eBay is a good idea. Rocketboom, the vlog kind-of news show that's often seen shooting around New York sold a week of ads on their site for $40,000. One thing we know: Traditional advertisers are going to be behind this curve. Witness this bit from BizWeek's blogspotting on why a small company that provides photocopy and ATM machines to retailers and not some bigger company got the account: "Rocketeboom was 'amazed by how many major US brands stepped forward. But they couldn't get everything lined up in the short time Rocketboom wanted to do the ads (early next month).'" Surprised the big guys couldn't step up to the delicious plate fast enough? We're not. Unfortunately. Email This Post |
