After Fury Over Furry W Cover, Christina Ricci Says She Won’t Be Furred Again*

Actress Christina Ricci appeared on the September cover of W clad in fur. Her fansite, ChristinaRicci.info, was deluged with animal-loving barbs, and was shut down by its owner last week. Now the actress has made a hairpin turn, declaring herself fur free to PETA.

Via E!: “After being named on the PETA worst dressed list for wearing fur on the cover of W magazine, I have been deluged with angry and disappointed fans,” Ricci wrote in an email on Saturday to PETA’s Dan Mathews. “I never meant to hurt nor anger anyone with my insensitivity. For what it is worth, I have received the message loud and clear and will not be wearing fur in the future. I apologize for my offensive actions.”
