Al D’Amato To Get Recurring Role On Law & Order?

aldamato.jpgSo usually, the way it works is that you start your career as an actor before going into politics. But former Senator Alfonse D’Amato is the iconoclastic type. Page Six reports that D’Amato might play a recurring character on Law & Order. D’Amato, who has recently been speaking with executive producer Dick Wolf, would appear as a judge in several episodes. Of course, Fred Thompson is the politician best associated with Law & Order. D’Amato’s acting experience is limited to a cameo in The Devil’s Advocate and several other small roles, but he’s no stranger to self-promotion.

Bonus fun fact: D’Amato is currently a lobbyist for the online poker industry.
