Alison Gendar Leaves New York Daily News

Capital New York is reporting that Alison Gendar, a veteran of the New York Daily News, is leaving the paper. Glendar is departing to become the deputy press secretary with the United Federation of Teachers (UFT).

Gendar has been with the Daily News for 13 years, most recently working out of the paper’s Washington D.C. bureau.

“The UFT’s gain is our loss,” read a statement from the Daily News. “Alison is a dogged, honest, thoughtful reporter who has made outstanding contributions to the News in innumerable ways. She will be sorely, sorely missed.”
