Ana Marie Cox Leaves Swampland

anagmariegcox.jpgAna Marie Cox announced in a post on Friday that she is leaving the Time political blog Swampland.

You may have noticed I haven’t been around much lately. I’m popping my head in to let you know that will continue to be the case: Swampland is a mature news blog now and quite clearly doesn’t need the care and feeding of a designated proprietor.

The time I’ve taken off from blogging full time has agreed with me (something about having time to hear yourself think) and I expect I’ll return to it eventually but not especially soon. There appear to be plenty of people willing to take up the slack.

We caught up with Cox earlier this morning who told us that despite frequent appearances of late on The Rachel Maddow Show (leading apparently, to some speculation she had a TV gig) she had no immediate future plans other than The Daily Beast, where she has been contributing on a regular basis since the demise of Radar at the end of October.
