Another FHM Cover Censored By Grand Central Newsstand
As we first reported last month, Grand Central Terminal’s Hudson News censored an FHM cover featuring the porn star Tera Patrick for what could only be described as “under-age” — cleavage’s Southern cousin. Well, Hudson News is at it again, covering up this month’s FHM — featuring Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard [left] — in its display window.
And, as was the case last month, the logic, once inside the store, doesn’t quite make sense.
Not that Hachette the industry needs any more controversial covers, but it seems to work from a business sense. As Keith Kelly later reported, the Tera Patrick FHM cover was expected to sell 400,000 copies on newsstands, well above its average of 350,000.
