Another Soho Area Fishbowl

WNYC public radio announced on air this morning it was moving its studios, long atop the NY City government building at One Centre Street, to Varick Street, west of Soho. They told us later the move is planned for 12-18 months from now. The address is 160-170 Varick, near Charleton.

They also said their “street-level performance studio” would be the only one of its kind in the ‘hood (our ‘hood!), with a live broadcast studio and office space behind a plate glass window letting passersby see inside.

Well, maybe the only broadcast studio. But they won’t be the only media mavens for us to gawk at live as they work.
