AP And Google Reach A New Agreement

The AP announced this morning that it has reached a new agreement with Google to share news with readers:

The Associated Press and Google have reached a new agreement on the continued licensing of AP content by Google. Under the agreement, AP and Google will also work together in a number of new areas, such as ways to improve discovery and distribution of news.

This means Google will continue to feature news items from the Associated Press following ongoing negotiations about the partnership. At one point, Google stopped featuring content from the AP when talks became particularly tense.

Google News signed a deal with the AP in 2006 wherein the former agreed to pay to include the latter’s content as part of its news aggregation services.
