Bicycling Shifts Gears With Pre-Doping Landis Cover Exclusive

Bicycling magazine’s October issue traditionally features the winner of the Tour de France on its cover — a tradition that quickly became problematic when this year’s winner, Floyd Landis, tested positive for high testosterone. The magazine had already shot Landis atop a Paris hotel for the cover and was days away from printing the issue, says editor Steve Madden. Instead of letting “the only publication in the world with portraits shots of Landis in yellow” go to waste, the magazine is now peddling the Landis issue, out next week, with the cover line: “We Can’t Believe It.”
