Britney Helps The Circulation Of OK!

The Britney-Industrial Complex has been good to OK! magazine. Figures from the semi-annual Audit Bureau of Circulations released yesterday reveal that the second half of 2007 was strong for OK! magazine thanks to Britney. From Richard Perez Pena of The New York Times:

”The upstart in the field, OK! Weekly, a recent British transplant, benefited from its scoops on the travails of Britney Spears and her family, and jumped more than 23 percent, to 935,000. Star magazine, National Enquirer and Life & Style all experienced significant drops in circulation.

”Celebrity magazines rely much more heavily than other categories on newsstand sales, which can vary widely from issue to issue, depending on the attention-grabbing power of the cover story. Those sales are also strongly affected by cover prices and by the overall economy, which slowed late last year.”

The March 2008 issue of Blender magazine also features Britney on the cover with the caption ”How Will It End.”
