Carson: I’m No Dick
Carson Daly says he’s no Dick Clark.
The host of Last Call, who’s revving up for New Year’s Eve party-hosting duties for NBC in New York this week, told the Los Angeles Times that he’s not in a rivalry with Ryan Seacrest to replace Dick Clark:
“Dick Clark is a huge inspiration for the huge success he’s achieved. But that’s where I stop. The world is changing. I’m young; I have my own thoughts as a producer. I’m not trying to keep his tradition. I’m trying to do my own.”
Seacrest is returning to host ABC’s New Year’s Rockin Eve, as he did last year, with Clark — as he did last year following a stroke — playing a “small role.”
