Catch-up and Questions
We’re back from Wednesday-home-away-from-home Michael’s and will be with you shortly with an update on what David Zinczenko and Adam Moss were giggling about over lunch and who the happiest person sitting with a Canadian was (not my lunch companions, I’m miserable company). No, it was Elvis Costello with his Canadian songstress bride Diana Krall! We also saw Lloyd Grove and Soledad O’Brien, who we met last night at the CNN holiday party…new best friend Jon Klein! Check in later to find out whether that’s a punchline or whether Jon Klein is actually my new best friend.
Now the questions furrowing our brow:
- What the hell happened to Kate Phillips at the NYT’s DC bureau? 14-hour days should not be so rewarded, it seems to me. [NYO]
- Does anyone else find the latest PETA Anna Wintour fur offensive well, offensive? I dunno, I think she got the message with the urinals. But sending unauthorized undie pics? Well, at least it doesn’t ruin her chinchilla with tacky red paint… Update: It’s actually a cartoon, sorry ’bout that. Still tasteless but still preferable to a paint bath. [Radar]
- Where does the pollen go? Some more Tab Hunter trivia for Cindy Adams: in addition to batting shoeless in “Damn Yankees” he was in “Grease Two.” If you can identify the joke behind the hed above, I may hug you. [NYP]
- How did John Huey pay for lunch at Michael’s today? Maybe he secretly washed dishes later — after all, we know they’re looking to cut a few corners at Time Warner. [NYT]
