Bon Appétit Down To Two Candidates For Editor

In September Condé Nast announced that they were moving Bon Appétit from Los Angeles to New York City and replacing editor Barbara Fairchild in the process.  According to Matthew Lynch of WWD,  the search for Fairchild’s successor has been narrowed down to two names: former Cookie editor-in-chief, Pilar Guzman, and Epicurious.com editor-in-chief, Tanya Steel.

Both candidates come with their fair share of experience.  Guzman edited Cookie from its inception in November 2005 until its fold in October 2009.  She made Crain’s 2008 40 Under 40 list and also co-authored Cookie‘s Time for Dinner cookbook and is planning to launch her own website, Momfilter.com.  Prior to stepping in as editor-in-chief at Epicurious, Tanya Steel worked as Bon Appétit‘s “New York editor.”  Steel has also appeared on Gordon Ramsay’s hit series, Hell’s Kitchen.
