Cronkite, Freston, Others Fete Huffington’s Fearless

Apart from the way our evening unraveled Saturday during a book party for Arianna Huffington‘s On Becoming Fearless hosted by ex-Viacom CEO Tom Freston at his New York townhouse, there was plenty of party to chew on.

A buzzy guestlist included legendary newsman Walter Cronkite, Hamptons housemates Dan Abrams and Men’s Health editor David Zinczenko, Eve Ensler, Barry Diller, Craiglist founder Craig Newmark, Animal Fair‘s Wendy Diamond, Naomi Wolf, along with Radar‘s Jeff Bercovici, BusinessWeek‘s Jon Fine and his wife and our boss Laurel Touby, Rolling Stone‘s (and soon-to-be Time Inc.’s) Nora Haynes, AdAge‘s Nat Ives, New York Times‘ resident rehabber David Carr, ex-mediabistro.com editor and blog mogul Elizabeth Spiers and dozens more.

Because of our abrupt exit, we never got to ask Huffington the most obvious question: Whose idea was it to schedule a New York book party on Rosh Hashanah?
