Deadline Day for Sports Illustrated Buyouts

According to The New York Post, today is the deadline for those Sports Illustrated staffers volunteering to take the buyout package offered by Time Inc.’s Sports Group.

No one is sure how many people accepted the offer, but a source told the Post that the number was likely very low, especially among those covered by the Newspaper Guild’s collective bargaining agreement.

Initial speculation was that there would be up to 16 people let go, but we’ll just have to wait and see how today shakes out.
