A reporter for the WaPo, Peter Carlson, literally sniffed his way through the holiday issue of Details to make a tally of the cologne and perfume ads in the mag. He compared it to “drowning in a huge vat of Ty-D-Bol.”
The final count?
Versace Man
Calvin Klein Man
Tom Ford for Men
Prada Amber Pour Homme
Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme
Burberry Touch for Men
Jean Paul Gaultier le Male
All in all, seven publications with their own scent strips (or non-scent strip equivalent). That’s a whole lotta cologne.
