Discovery Channel Going Public In 2008

An announcement was formally made yesterday that Discovery Communications owners Advance/Newhouse and Discovery Holding will be taking the company public in 2008. Also, two rebranding notes (Including the loss of the Discovery Times channel! Where Charlie LeDuff showed up on TV for, like, two weeks):

  • Discovery Home Channel is being rebranded as Planet Green
  • Discovery Times Channel is being rebranding as Investigation Discovery

    More true crime shows and machine-gunning at HGTV? Si.
