Elle Girl Editor Melissa Walker Inks Teen Book Deal

There are still plenty ElleGirl staffers in a state of shock over yesterday’s news that the magazine will fold. Senior features editor and mediabistro writing instructor Melissa Walker, though, has a book deal to fall back on. Walker recently signed on with Penguin’s NAM/JAM line to write three teen novels, the first of which is due in fall 2007. Which means we actually might be forced to read a teen novel in the fall of 2007.

We wish Walker and the rest of the EG staff the best. Change is good, but when the magazine you work for is yanked out from underneath you, it can suck, too.
