Elvis Probably Not Alive, Cell Phones Probably Okay for Pregnant Women

computer-gal-pregnant.jpgDiscoblog, Discover magazine’s blog, is advising that a number of media outlets may have gone a bit overboard in reporting the results of study that suggested cell phone use by pregnant women may cause the children to develop behavioral problems (someone should do a study about how cell phone use results in behavioral problems in adults, particularly those walking down a crowded sidewalk).

Anyway, not surprisingly the study’s findings “could be explained by a host of other factors unrelated to cell phone use,” (we’re guessing sugar?) this according to the actual researchers. So probably not quite worthy of this headline from the Independent, which read: “Warning: Using a mobile phone while pregnant can seriously damage your baby.” So, cell phone away! We’re still holding out for Elvis, though.
